STEVE PIERCE ENDORSES ALLIE FOR STATE REP

Westfield, MA – Former Westfield State Representative Steve Pierce has endorsed candidate for State Representative and City Councilor Dan Allie for the seat Pierce once held from 1978 to 1991.

I have known Dan Allie since 1990 when I ran for Governor and 1991 when I ran for Congress. One of my fondest memories of my political life is the wonderful people from Westfield, Western Mass and across the state who helped me on my campaigns. Dan was one of the hardest working volunteers we had in Western Mass. Dan has continued to support worthy candidates and issues for thirty years. From first time candidates running for City Council to managing congressional campaigns and helping elect Mike Knapik to the State Senate in 1994, Scott Brown and many others.

He has worked to put common sense rules reform, restoring Local Aid and increasing state funding for road maintenance as questions on local ballots. He collected thousands of signatures to Repeal Automatic Gas Tax increases, End Common Core and successfully campaigned to oppose extending the term of Westfield Mayor to four years. He has served seven years as City Councilor and knows how state mandates, policies and regulations directly impact the city budget and our daily lives.

“I wish to thank Steve Pierce for his endorsement. I registered as a Republican in order to go to Steve’s state convention and help his campaign when he ran for Governor. I was always impressed by Steve’s honesty, integrity, intelligence and plainspoken, common sense approach to governing,” said Allie.

“Steve inspired people across the state to get involved. It was all those ordinary citizens and wonderful people from Westfield who I met while working on Steve’s campaign that sold me on Steve and made me want to fight for important issues. I usually do not ask, nor seek endorsements from anyone other than the people from Westfield, but this means a lot to me, and if elected, I promise to work as hard as I can everyday for our city and help the people of Westfield. Their voice matters” says Allie.
