Who to Vote For, Part 2: Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson

SPECIAL COMMENTARY

by Lonnie Brennan

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson is an anomaly amongst Massachusetts sheriffs: he actually believes in protecting residents, he actually believes in enforcing the law. Amazing in a scandal-ridden state.

But Hodgson has an opponent this year, and it’s not just any opponent, it’s a megalomaniac named Paul Heroux, the mayor of Attleboro. A pudgy little man with a twinkle in his eye and the ability to sell ice cubes to Eskimos. That wouldn’t mean much, but when you add in the hundreds of thousands in big-deep Democrat funding that is being wired into Massachusetts to unseat Hodgson, its time to be afraid, very afraid.

This Heroux guy is protected by a Teflon® coating, it seems. Nothing sticks to him. He washes out of the Navy after just 39 days, he makes a name for himself advocating publicly for the rights of pedophiles, and still, the pudgy boy-in-a-suit manages to get elected mayor. An incredible campaign of distraction and hoopla. With money, with campaigning,  you would have thought he was a saint – money washes away/hides reality in political campaigns. And, yes, you can fool some people, some of the time.

But now, Heroux has another problem: his uncalled for either intentional or unintentional brazen intimidation of a firefighter’s wife via social media, his political stunts and games against Hodson, it’s all beginning to leak through. The curtain in Oz is revealing a very different wizard. The recent ruling by the state slamming Heroux for his handling of a dispute with the firefighters in his town, well, it makes his past campaign finances violations pale in comparison.

But, Heroux is a political animal – a megalomaniac looking to get his hold on a powerful position to turn back the Bristol County sheriff’s department into a political hack haven, with boss jaba-the-hut Heroux front and center.

With hundreds of thousands being dropped into Massachusetts, anything can happen. Money drives political campaigns. And, this year, Sheriff Hodgson’s off-kilter opponent is surging with money. And why? Is it just about Democrats wanting absolute control? Nope. It’s more about getting rid of the last man standing between Massachusetts families and illegals. Sheriff Hodgson makes no bones about putting the safety of Massachusetts legal residents ahead of the tidal wave of illegals that boss Heroux embraces.

The choice is simple: If there’s a new sheriff in town named Heroux, he’ll do his best to help turn Massachusetts into a haven for illegals, and if given a chance, Sodom and Gomorrah.
