MASS PLANNED PARENTHOOD CLAIMS TRUMP BUDGET WILL CRIPPLE IT
by CATHOLIC ACTION LEAGUE
The Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts is claiming that President Trump’s new budget reconciliation act will cause the Bay State affiliate of the abortion giant to lose, annually, at least $14 million, in taxpayer monies.
On July 4th, President Trump signed into law House Resolution 1-One Big Beautiful Bill Act, (A Bill To provide for reconciliation pursuant to Title II of House Congressional Resolution 14, as amended by the Senate).
The new legislation prohibits federal dollars from being used for Medicaid reimbursements to any health care entity which performs abortions.
The Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, with killing centers in Boston, Worcester and Springfield, perpetrated 9,462 abortions in 2024, up from the 8,351 reported by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in 2023.
Planned Parenthood is responsible for more than one third of all Bay State abortions.
Nationwide, Planned Parenthood was responsible for the killing of 402,230 pre-born children in its 2023-2024 fiscal year.
In a story in The Boston Globe on July 3rd, Doctor Luu Ireland, Planned Parenthood’s Chief Medical Officer, said that the reconciliation act would deprive Planned Parenthood in the state of nearly half of its operating budget.
According to the League’s financial statement for FY 2023–the last year for which such data is publicly available—Massachusetts Planned Parenthood received more than $30 in annual revenue for the period ending on June 30th of that year.
Paradoxically, payments for abortions will not be affected by the federal reconciliation measure, as those reimbursements are provided by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, which operates in New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont, is claiming that the Trump reconciliation act will deprive the abortion agency of $3.5 million in Medicaid reimbursements.
This comes in addition to $1.7 million in Title X funds already frozen by the Trump Administration, for violating the provisions of that title.
Title X of the Public Health Service Act of 1970, states, unequivocally, that ‘None of the funds appropriated under this title shall be used in programs where abortion is a method of family planning.’”
The combined loss of $5.2 million in federal funds would severely impact PPNNE, depriving it of 21% of its annual revenue stream of $24.3 million.
Catholic Action League League Executive Director C. J. Doyle made the following comment: “While President Trump, the Congressional leadership, and the Republican rank and file are to be commended for this measure, the original House version of the bill mandated a ten year ban on Medicaid reimbursements to abortion perpetrators.
The final version, amended by the Senate and signed into law by the President, provides for only a one year ban.
This means that nervous congressional Republicans will be forced to vote to renew this measure next year, in the middle of the mid-term election season.
The usual Republican suspects in the Senate, Susan Collins of Maine, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska—both nominal Catholics—may be the culprits in this setback.
As for Planned Parenthood, it is a genocidal organization, guilty of crimes against humanity, which ought not to exist in a civilized country.
Politicians who fund and protect it are the moral equivalent of Nazi war criminals. Catholic politicians who collaborate with it have innocent blood on their hands, and must be separated from the community of the Faithful.”
