In my opinion, the commonwealth’s attorney general should stick to her knitting as an attorney and focus on the critical legal and financial issues negatively affecting the commonwealth and drop the hate Trump routine.

AG Andrea Campbell has filed 47 lawsuits against the Trump administration, many in joint lawsuits with other Democratic states. Campbell has spent untold millions of taxpayer dollars wasting them suing the president and the administration. Her administrative battles have included topics such as disaster preparedness, education grants, energy and infrastructure, and of all things, fees for visas. Why? Is the AG a victim of Trump Derangement Syndrome?

It is reported that by the end of President Trump’s first 100 days in office in 2025, she had filed 14 lawsuits; that is one lawsuit every 7 days during the first 100 days of President’s Trump’s administration.

In February 2026, the AG may have requested an additional $2.7 million from Governor Maura Healey’s proposed budget. That funding presumably would have bought an additional 17 employees to her current staff load of 700 employees to handle what are called “constant legal battles.” The AG proposal for the fiscal year had been to fund the AG’s Office for $76 million, arguing for a higher figure during deliberations to account for the “federal workload.” Why?

President Trump is the duly elected leader of the United States. A state attorney general is merely a small legal cog in a long railway to Washington, D.C. If AG Campbell thinks she gets points by pulling these political and ideologically-motivated legal stunts by suing the Trump administration, she does not, except perhaps from the other demented residents of this state which keep it blue and underwater fiscally as a one-party state.

Campbell is confirming that the AG is a political hack spending the public’s money without purpose or effect other than to continue the hue and cry of pointless legal battles against the legitimate presidency of President Donald Trump.

Based on the success of the Trump administration it seems to me that Andrea Campbell is exhibiting a very shortsighted, mean-spirited, use of the public trust. In my opinion, she may be in violation of her oath of office. ♦
