Minogue for Mass. Gov. : ‘Massachusetts is Working for Some, but Not All’

FROM OUR PRINTED JUNE 1, 2026 EDITION

SPECIAL COMMENTARY

by Lonnie Brennan

As we enter the lazy hazy days of summer, voting seems so far off in the distance, and politics seem to take a back seat to beaches, barbeques, craft fairs, gardening, sports,  concerts, and summer fun.

Don’t. Don’t. Don’t. Don’t take your eye off the ball entirely. This is the year we have a chance to restore some sense of fiscal responsibility to the state.

That one chance is named Mike Minogue.

Minogue’s first battle was with his own party: trying to win a nomination vote at last month’s Republican Convention, despite chaos (see stories inside) and other efforts to derail the non-insider. Minogue is the name to remember for the Sept. 1st Republican primary vote, and it’s also the name to remember as the only chance available to defeat radical leftist,
illegal-immigrant advocate Maura “hold-it if you don’t want to pee in a bathroom with a male” Healey.

Minogue wants to be a “different kind of governor,” one focused on providing for ALL residents of Massachusetts, and by protecting working men and women, families of all types, and our tremendous senior population.

Minogue will be dogged the entire way to the primary by a guy who, despite old-guard establishment support at the Republican Convention, still could only muster a smidgen more than the 15% necessary to appear in the Sept. 1st primary. But is Brian Shortsleeve in it to win? Or is he in it to try to derail the frontrunner Minogue?

We’ve seen this play many, many times before, where a good candidate finds himself dogged by Democrat-enablers.

Shortsleeve, by all outward appearances, talks fine, but with a chronic history of donating to seemingly every toxic Democrat, repeatedly, over the years. In contrast, businessman Minogue also donated to Democrats over the years, a tiny, tiny fraction of what Shortsleeve did (see May Broadside).

The Sept. 1st primary election is not just a day in the far distance where you may or may not vote. It’s a beacon. A beacon of hope for a lost Massachusetts which squanders billions on pet projects and illegal aliens and makes school children sell mattresses and wrapping paper to receive an adequate education.

No, instead of waiting and perhaps forgetting, consider restoring some sense of reality to Massachusetts.

Sign up TODAY to volunteer on the Minogue campaign, and pledge to yourself to do something every week this summer to get Minogue elected.

Standouts, parades, donations, signs, they are all part of a political campaign. But most importantly, so is discussing Minogue with all of your friends, your family, your groups. Spreading the word that if we all turn out on Sept. 1st, crowd the polls (wouldn’t that be amazing), the future could be so bright you’ll need those sunglasses.

Go forth and enjoy the summer, but volunteer now to help yourself and Mike Minogue.
