Mass. Gov. Candidate Buys 20 Delegate Votes for $100,000 – MassGOP Says It’s ‘Partnership’
Filling in the Blanks
by Lonnie Brennan
Below is the message received today from the MassGOP. It’s in response to the recent ‘investment’ in the MassGOP by Gov. Candidate Mike Minogue.
Note that the MassGOP fails to make mention that the ‘partnership opportunity’ came with perks: specifically, Republican Gov. Candidate Mike Minogue will receive 20 delegate slots (he purchased 20 votes) in exchange for his ‘investment’ of $100,000 in the MassGOP.
The MassGOP offered 20 voting delegate slots up for sale to each governor’s candidate.
So, Minogue picked up 20 votes for $5,000 each.
FACTS:
Those are the facts. Votes can and have been purchased for money. The MassGOP selling votes. And the MassGOP explains it away by saying they provided each of the three governor candidates the same opportunity buy votes, and support the financially challenged organization run by chair Amy Carnevale (acarnevale@live.com).
SIDENOTE: Meanwhile, the MassGOP and specifically State Committee Member Anthony Ventresca (tonyvbrtc@aol.com) have slow-walked an internal voter fraud investigation for months involving State Committeewoman Jennifer Cunningham (jac4scr@gmail.com), as previously detailed in the Broadside.
UPDATE:
Want to raise money for your local Republican Town Committee? Apparently there is no qualms with selling votes with the MassGOP, so some have suggested that local committees should offer up votes to each of the three candidates for governor. Might I suggest $500 for each pledged vote? That would be 1/10th the price offered by the mother organization – MassGOP – and would allow local committees to get in on the money rush… selling of votes from the party of ‘voter integrity’ (except when they can raise money off votes). Great way for local committees to raise some funds to elect local candidates… (OK, time to stop laughing over this sad turn of events.)
Here’s the message from the MassGOP:

BOSTON, MA – February 11, 2026 — The Massachusetts Republican Party gratefully acknowledges and thanks Mike Minogue for Governor for a generous $100,000 investment in support of our shared mission to take back the Governor’s Office this November.
Identical partnership opportunities were offered to each gubernatorial campaign as part of a broader effort to strengthen party fundraising and help build the foundation for victory.
This significant investment strengthens our statewide ground game, bolsters support for down-ballot Republicans, and enhances the resources necessary to compete, and win, at every level,” said Massachusetts Republican Party Chair Amy Carnevale. “When we work together and invest in our party’s future, Republicans succeed.”
“The MassGOP is grateful for Mike’s commitment to building a unified, energized Republican Party ready to deliver victories up and down the ballot this November.”
