SMEAR CAMPAIGN AGAINST
PRO-LIFE PREGNANCY CENTERS EXPOSED AS A FRAUD
The state sponsored smear campaign, against pro-life pregnancy care centers in Massachusetts, has been exposed as a fraud.
On January 24th, reporter Matt Lamb, of LifeSiteNews, contacted the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, seeking a comment from C.J. Doyle on a new revelation regarding Governor Maura Healey’s disinformation campaign targeting crisis pregnancy centers.
In June of 2024, the Governor’s Office announced a $1 million so-called public education campaign to warn women about the alleged “danger and potential harm” posed by pregnancy care centers, which Healey accused of resorting to “deceptive and dangerous tactics…to stop people from accessing comprehensive reproductive services.”
The websites of the Department of Public Health and the Office of the Attorney General encouraged women who felt victimized by pregnancy care centers to file civil rights complaints against them.
On January 7th, Matt Lamb sent a public records request to the Office of the Attorney General, asking how many complaints have been received about pro-life centers since the June 10, 2024 beginning of the so-called public education campaign.
On January 16th, Assistant Attorney General Jess Instone replied, informing reporter Lamb that the Civil Rights Division had not received a single complaint against crisis pregnancy centers.
Matt Lamb’s story, including quotes from the Catholic Action League, was published today by LifeSiteNews. The full text of Doyle’s remarks are below.
C. J. Doyle, the Executive Director of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, made the following comments in response to an inquiry from Mr. Matt Lamb of LifeSiteNews:
“The absence of any formal complaints against crisis pregnancy centers, in the seven months since the beginning of the state sponsored disinformation campaign maligning them, tells us what we already knew—that there was never any evidence of deception or abuse by the selfless, dedicated pro-life volunteers who staff these life affirming, non-profit charitable institutions.
This propaganda campaign, crafted by the Reproductive Equity Now Foundation—the “trusted partner” of the DPH—and implemented by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, speaks to the cynical hypocrisy, callous dishonesty and anti-life fanaticism of the Healey/Driscoll Administration, along with its absolute subservience to the abortion lobby.
Governor Maura Healey should retract her defamatory comments about pregnancy care centers, stop the misuse of taxpayer dollars in demonizing them, and apologize for slandering innocent citizens who are only trying to help vulnerable women with unexpected pregnancies.
The origins of this Goebbelsian campaign can be traced to a 2015 propaganda document by NARAL. It was revived by abortion proponents after Dobbs, as a punitive measure to retaliate against the pro-life movement.
Maura Healey is a partnered lesbian and a pro-abortion zealot who has a long history of bitter hostility to the moral and legal claims pro-life movement and to constitutional guarantees of religious liberty.
As both a candidate and an office holder, Healey has espoused extremist positions and supported radical legislation to expand the killing of the unborn. As Attorney General, she filed numerous lawsuits opposing the right to life.
When she first ran for Attorney General in 2014, Healey vowed to shut down crisis pregnancy centers in the state.
Following her election, she credited Planned Parenthood for her victory, describing its endorsement as “a game changer for my campaign.”
In her 2014 and 2018 campaigns for Attorney General, and in her 2022 campaign for Governor, Healey was endorsed by the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts.
Her gubernatorial campaign received endorsements from Emily’s List, Reproductive Equity Now and NARAL Pro-Choice America.
As Governor, Healey not only attempted to incite public contempt for pregnancy care centers, but ordered the University of Massachusetts system to stockpile 15,000 doses of Mifepristone.
This disinformation campaign also raises serious ethical questions regarding Governor Healey’s conduct as an elected official.
Chapter 268A Section 4 of the Massachusetts General Laws prohibits a public officer from acting as an agent for someone other than the Commonwealth. In this matter, it would seem that Maura Healey is acting as an agent for her donor class in the abortion industry.”
Finally, Matt Lamb is to be commended for an enterprising piece of journalism, asking an obvious question, which no one in the mainstream media ever bothered to ask.
