Pregnancy Resource Centers

Attacked in Mass.

FORWARDING THIS FROM MASS. CITIZENS FOR LIFE:

“This is an email I wish I did not have to send. But you need to know what’s going on, and we need your help.

Last night, Worcester’s Problem Pregnancy and Clearway Clinic, pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) run by incredibly caring teams of professionals, were attacked. You can see the vandalism at Clearway in the photo below.

Thankfully, no clinic staff or patients were harmed and no property was stolen. In a statement this morning, Clearway Executive Director Kelly Wilcox wrote, “The 2 perpetrators were caught on video using a hammer to smash our windows and doors. They also spray painted Jane’s Revenge on the front step. Jane’s Revenge is the terrorist group that has been taking credit for vandalizing and firebombing churches and Christian missions across our nation since the Dobbs brief was leaked. These are cowardly acts of domestic terrorism that are an attempt to scare off our efforts to serve women and families. They will not succeed.”

On June 25th, the day after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Facebook’s parent company, Meta, internally designated Jane’s Revenge a terrorist organization, implying it is subject to the company’s strictest censorship policies, those also applied to “praise, support, and representation” of the Islamic State and Hitler.

Unsurprisingly, though, the media has not spent significant time reporting on the pro-abortion organization or its inciteful speech, like these segments from a June 15 website “communique:”

We have demonstrated in the past month how easy and fun it is to attack. . . We promised to take increasingly drastic measures against oppressive infrastructures. Rest assured that we will, and those measures may not come in the form of something so easily cleaned up as fire and graffiti. . . . From here forward, any anti-choice group who closes their doors, and stops operating will no longer be a target. But until you do, it’s open season, and we know where your operations are. . . .Through attacking, we find joy, courage, and strip the veneer of impenetrability held by these violent institutions. . . . And for the allies of ours who doubt the authenticity of the communiqués and actions: there is a way you can get irrefutable proof that these actions are real. Go do one of your own. You are already one of us. Everyone with the urge to paint, to burn, to cut, to jam: now is the time. Go forth and manifest the things you wish to see.

Just yesterday, hours before the Worcester PRCs were vandalized, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey issued a “consumer advisory warning” against PRCs, but it is a complete mischaracterization of both the mission and services of PRCs. She states in bold font, “CPCs do NOT provide comprehensive reproductive healthcare. CPCs are organizations that seek to prevent people from accessing abortion care.” Attorney General Healey has neither referenced nor condemned the threats or recent violence directed at PRCs. Instead, she, who is supposed to uphold law and order in the state, instigated a violent terrorist group to vandalize buildings dedicated to helping expectant mothers. Healey has failed the women and mothers of our state.

Meanwhile, Senator Elizabeth Warren also spoke out against PRCs and the life-affirming work they do, providing women with real options other than abortion – the supposed “choice” that pro-choice advocates consistently claim they support.

According to the Globe, last week “Warren warned that these centers outnumber genuine abortion clinics in Massachusetts, a problem, she and other advocates said, that may worsen as anti-abortion groups focus their attention here with the goal of further limiting abortion.” ‘Deceiving people in order to provide services, in order to provide products is wrong and outlawed in most contexts,’ Warren said. ‘And the idea that centers have sprung up to prey on people who are pregnant and vulnerable and seek help is fundamentally wrong.’”

Such a tragic shame that Senator Warren can’t see that, really, the “centers” and deception within them exist not at PRCs but at abortion clinics and businesses like Planned Parenthood. She introduced legislation recently against PRCs.

An even greater sadness: those who would love to see PRCs fail simply have no idea of the good they accomplish, or of the women, children and, yes, even men, who are rescued and offered something other than abortion at what might be the darkest time of their lives.

This is where you come in. There is a national smear campaign rapidly unfolding against pregnancy resource centers, from leaders who claim to be proponents of choice and advocates for women. This is our newest and most urgent battle for truth to be known. Like me, you probably know at least one woman helped, one child whose life was saved, one family supported, one man encouraged. Please ask them if you can share their story with me. Better yet, invite them to get in touch with me themselves. I welcome anything from brief one-sentence testimonials to pages of gratitude for whatever was received at a PRC, whether or not that resource is in Massachusetts.

My team and I will prioritize these stories and make sure that Healey, Warren and their “pro-choice” colleagues hear them before more damage is done. At its core, MCFL exists to educate. Today, those who are most in need of our informative campaign are those who should know better. Between you and me, we will respectfully let them know that PRCs are not the villains but the heroes.

With advance thanks for your prompt responses,

Myrna

  1. Clark is an example of how carpetbaggers have come to the Bay State and win elections because 60% don’t vote. They bring ideas and intolerant attitudes that most working class people reject. Yet if 10 to 15 percent more of the working class took the effort to vote then the out of touch carpetbaggers woild lose elections. Over 70% of registered voters in Boston didn’t even vote in the last mayoral election. Yet, the Globe and Herald tell us that Mayor Wu has a huge mandate. I blame that majority of voters who stay home on election day for the current out of touch state of local politics.
