Houston we have a problem!
Normally after a GOP Primary, we see our candidates run to the middle. Many times it is to our shock and horror.
This election season we are witnessing it before the Primary!
In the race for Governor, we have two candidates who have blatantly abandoned the Republican Party. The first one was Mike Kennealy, also known as Maura Kennealy. Not only is he the Godfather of the disastrous MBTA Communities Act that has allowed Healey to punish communities for not complying, but he also started putting illegal immigrants in hotels as the Housing Secretary. Before there were Healey hotels, there were Kennealy hotels. While he tries to hide these facts, Kennealy is not running away from his record of not voting for President Trump all three times.
If that wasn’t bad enough, Mike Minogue has also joined in the effort to distance himself from the Republican Party which he just joined last April. He stated in a recent WBUR interview: “I don’t identify with a party.”
He doesn’t identify with a party? If he feels this way before the Primary, can you imagine how bad it could get????
During the same interview, Minogue was asked — Why not run as an independent? Here is his answer: “Well, I think there’s two parties and you have to pick. And just like the last election, there’s two parties and you had to pick. And so I’m focused on bringing the ground game. I’m focused on bringing the answers on the issues that matter to most people. And we’ve never had an independent governor.”
That’s not an answer of a committed Republican!
When asked on the Mike Urban show about repealing the MBTA Communities Act, Minogue dodged the question. He refused to say if he supports the repeal.
Minogue has also refused to commit to repeal Chapter 135—the Act Modernizing Firearm Laws—which took away our 2nd Amendment rights. This law put a veteran in jail for months because he exercised his 2nd amendment rights!
There is one conservative in this race for Governor and his name is not MIKE. It is Brian Shortsleeve. He makes no bones about repealing the MBTA Communities Act. He fully supports repealing the Chapter 135. He has gone to Mass and Cass and the Healey hotels to expose her failures. He has been a fearless campaigner.
We need to nominate a Republican with backbone. What’s it gonna be guys?
