Republican State Committee approves flurry of resolutions   June 9, 2021   FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   CONTACT: Evan Lips, communications director 617-523-5005 ext. 245

MARLBOROUGH — The Massachusetts Republican State Committee met Wednesday night and stood unified in passing a list of resolutions that ranged from backing an end to pandemic-related universal mail-in voting to unequivocally supporting Israel’s right to defend itself.

“Republicans are free to disagree on plenty of things and have plenty of different opinions, but our collective resolve to stand in solidarity behind important issues like election integrity and supporting our nation’s most loyal allies is unmatched,” Massachusetts Republican Party Chairman Jim Lyons said.

Additionally, a compromise measure aimed at reforming the State Committee’s Executive Committee, comprised in part by Republicans holding statewide elected office, received full support.

“There are those that spend so much time trying to sow chaos within the Massachusetts Republican Party, as shown by recent media coverage, but I’m proud tonight to say that Massachusetts Republicans State Committee members found common ground on several positions that matter most,” Lyons added.   Below are the resolutions that passed by voice-vote:

There was spirited yet respectful debate over language apparent in a proposed resolution that members agreed would conflict with a pro-First Amendment and anti-censorship resolution passed in January.   In the end, State Committee members voted in favor of a revised version, and agreed to reconvene and amend the resolution in the future as necessary:

Said Lyons:   “Tonight we joined together to approve several resolutions that Massachusetts Republicans can feel proud about, and those who continue to insist on creating chaos and divisions within our party were put on notice.”   Paid for by the Massachusetts Republican Party Not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee
