Camp Constitution

Special to the Boston Broadside
Camp Constitution is an all-volunteer association of freedom-loving Americans that since 2009, runs a week-long family camp, publishes books and reprints, hosts a radio show, mans tables at homeschool shows, and has a parade float in the Dedham Flag Day Parade where we distribute hundreds of copies of the U.S Constitution. In addition, we have a YouTube Channel where viewers can find a number of classes and activities held at our camp over the years. We are especially proud of our Sam Blumenfeld Archives, which is available on the camp’s website: www.campconstitution.net. The late Sam Blumenfeld, a Camp Constitution instructor, author, and a pioneer in the homeschool movement, left his library to us  and we are honored to be able to  make his work known to future generations.  http://blumenfeld.campconstitution.net/

Our 2016 camp runs from July 10 to 17 and will return to the Toah Nipi Christian Retreat Center in Rindge, NH. Instructors include KrisAnne Hall, John McManus, the Rev. Steve Craft, Katherine White, and New Hampshire State Rep. Paul Ingbretson. We offer classes on the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence, the myth of Global Warming, our nation’s Godly heritage, the dangers of the UN, defending your worldview, how to communicate with elected officials, and how to be an effective liberty activist. In addition to the classes, campers and staff participate in recreational activities such as swimming, canoeing, basketball, volleyball, chess tournaments, indoor rock climbing wall, and an optional hike up Mt. Monadnock. The camp has a daily newspaper and each night we have a campfire where we sing, recite poetry, tell corny jokes, and eat smores.
Wednesday we take a full-day field trip to Lexington and Concord, MA. On Saturday, the last full day of camp, campers and staff engage in an outreach project where we visit the surrounding towns and distribute copies of the U.S. Constitution, and information on important issues. We have a special program for our junior campers, ages 5-11, called Patriot Camp where they learn about our nation’s rich history.

Camp Constitution is a camp for the entire family or minors. The facility offers rooms, cabins, and dorms, and trailer hookups. Thanks to the generosity of our camp sponsors, Camp Constitution has never had to turn away a worthy camper or family for lack of money.
