The Reverend Richard A. Bucci, the heroic Rhode Island priest who was met with a media firestorm when he announced that he would enforce canon law by withholding Holy Communion from pro-abortion politicians, has been grievously injured in a serious automobile accident.

At about 1:30 in the afternoon, on Tuesday, March 3rd, Father Bucci’s car suddenly veered off the road on the Lynnway in Lynn, at the corner of Market Street, striking a pole and a tree. Father Bucci, 72, was extracted from the wreck with the aid of the Massachusetts State Police and was airlifted to Salem Hospital.

He was later transferred to the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, where, according to one media report, he is “now in a medically-induced coma,” with his condition described as “day by day.”

Please storm heaven with prayers for the complete and speedy recovery of Father Richard Bucci, whose Faith and fortitude are a model for the priesthood and an inspiration to every believing Catholic!

O God, our refuge and strength, the author of all piety, give ear to the devout prayers of Your Church; and grant that what we ask with faith, we may obtain effectually. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
