After two weeks of Democrats trying to again fund every pet project under the sun and cram them into so-called Covid relief, President Trump said “enough.”
The president on Saturday August 8, 2020 issued four executive orders to do what he promised: help people directly.
- $400 UNEMPLOYMENT BONUS PER WEEK
$400 will be paid each week to each person on unemployment. ($100 from the states, $300 from the federal government.) This is on top of any unemployment benefit a person is entitled to collect. This number is down from the prior passed $600/week. This would extend to Dec. 6 OR UNTIL funding runs out, whichever comes first.
- NO PAYROLL TAX
For anyone making under $100,000/year, you will pay no payroll taxes through the end of this year. However, you MAY possibly be required to pay back the taxes you did not pay, unless further action is taken. For many, that’s a take-home bonus of 10-22%.
- 0 INTEREST ON STUDENT LOANS
If you can, now is the time to continue to pummel down your student loans, as every penny of your payment will go directly to principle, as all interest charges have been eliminated from March until Dec. 31, 2020.
- PROPOSED POTENTIAL RENT/MORTGAGE EVICTION PROTECTION
President Trump put a stake in the ground on this one, but it needs more work he noted, and his order directs others to work with him to find possible solutions.
One Reply to “President Trump Acts for the People: Unemployment, Payroll Tax, Student Loans, Rent-Relief(?)”
Mr. Trump is trying to help the real oppressed and ignored demographic, working class Americans. People like Schumer and Pelosi only seek to divide and spread hatred. Power and arrogance are their goal. Such a joke to see Joey Kennedy’s ads on tv in his U.S. Senate run. He labels himself as “change”. Talk about undeserved privilege. Change? His scandal ridden family gave us Robert McNamara and Chappaquidick just to name a few ills His daddy was an uncaring clown who accomplished little in Congress. Little Joey is following in that clueless and uncaring tradition. The Bay State deserves better than him.
